# How to Separate Personal and Work Photos on iPhone

iPhone has no built-in profile system, but there are four ways to keep work photos separate from your personal camera roll.

## Quick Answer

iOS does not support multiple user profiles or photo libraries, but you can separate work and personal photos four ways. **Method 1:** Create a "Work" album and immediately add work photos to it after capture. **Method 2:** Move work photos to the **Hidden** album (Albums > Utilities > Hidden) — they stay accessible but don't appear in Recents. **Method 3:** Use a photo vault app like **KeepSafe Photo Vault** or **1Password** for encrypted, app-locked storage. **Method 4:** Use **iCloud Shared Library** with a separate Apple ID for work — but this requires switching IDs, which is complex.

## Method 1: Use a Work Album

### 1 Create a Work Album

Open **Photos > Albums**. Tap the **+** in the upper left, then **New Album**. Name it "Work" and tap Save.

### 2 Add Photos After Capture

After taking a work photo, swipe up on the camera preview to enter Photos. Tap **Share > Add to Album** and choose Work. The photo stays in the main library too — albums are just collections.

## Method 2: Move to Hidden Album

### 3 Hide Work Photos

Select work photos in the Photos app. Tap the **three-dot menu**, then **Hide**. They are removed from Recents, Days, Months, Years, and Search but remain accessible in **Albums > Utilities > Hidden**.

### 4 Lock the Hidden Album

In iOS 16+, the Hidden album is automatically locked behind Face ID. To verify: **Settings > Photos > Use Face ID**.

## Method 3: Use a Photo Vault App

### 5 Install a Vault App

Download **KeepSafe Photo Vault**, **Best Secret Folder**, or store photos as attachments in **1Password** or a locked Apple Note. These apps encrypt photos behind a separate PIN or biometric.

### 6 Import and Delete from Camera Roll

Open the vault app, import work photos, then delete them from the main camera roll (and Recently Deleted). The vault keeps an encrypted copy that does not sync to iCloud Photos.

## Long-Term Organization

Whichever method you choose, build the habit of immediately filing or hiding work photos as you take them. The longer they sit in Recents, the harder cleanup becomes.
